autocomplete in ol2007 is forgetful

We have been using Outlook 2000 and recently decided to try Outlook 2007.
The install seemed to work well (all emails and contacts from the OL2000 PST
showed up in OL2007). One feature that is a very important one to us doesn't
seem to be working correctly: "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and
Bcc fields check box."

1. It only seems to remember contacts that have been used since Outlook
2007 was launched.

2. It only seems to work with the most recent 3 or 4 contacts that have
been used.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,
Roy

1. is how it works. names you have previously sent mail to, either as new
mail or replies, are remembered.
2. it should hold approx the last 2000 names you sent to. Are you opening
and closing outlook frequently? If so, see if outlook is closing
completely - look in task manager to see if its running after you close it.
if so, the NK2 is not getting updated. (You'll need to figure out why its
left running - see http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.asp)

Outlook 2000 did not have the feature, so there's no way OL 2007 could
remember addresses from before it was installed.

It doesn't remember contacts. It remembers any address to which you send a
message, up tto 2,000 addresses. You need to try a new mail profile only if
Outlook forgets all entries between sessions.

Thanks, Outlook 2007 was forgetting AutoComplete addresses between sessions.
Creating a new profile and pointing it to the existing PST fixed the problem.
