Alrighty, When i go to send a new email in outlook, After i send it, if i go to create another new email and try to send it to the same users, without putting the info in a newly created conctact, you can see the address i just sent that last email to, autopop in the TO: menu.

How does this work, i know these emails are stored in a file on the harddrive, but how long are they cached for? I dont really want to make a new contact for ALL my emails, but I do like that outlook keeps some of them, sometimes they dissapear.

How come?

Outlook 2002 and 2003 have create an autocompletion cache from each email
you send. It is stored in a separate file that bears the name of your
Outlook profile and has an NK2 extension. I've never seen names just
"disappear" for no reason unless you have a corrupt Outlook profile.

If you value this cache, it is worth backing it up. If you ever create a new
Outlook profile, you can rename this file to match the new profile, place it
in the correct location, and Outlook will use it again.

If you want to learn more about the contents of your autocomplete file, you
can open it using a utility that we developed. It can be found at
www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm. It's call Owtlook. This utility can be
used to quickly edit or add information to your autocomplete file. In
addition you can export it for use in other applications.

We were writing an import utility, but ceased our efforts because it is very
easy to populate your autocomplete file using the following work-around:

In OL, go to tools, options, mail setup, send/receive. Uncheck the "Send
immediatly when connected box". Then, press the Send/Receive Button and
uncheck "Schedule an automatic send/receive". Next disconnect your
computer from the internet by removing your network and/or telphone
connection. Open a new e-mail, press the bcc or to or cc button, select the
contact folder you would like to bring into your autocomplete file. Select
all names by highlighting first and last contact and then add them by
pressing the OK button at the bottom. With your computer disconnected,
press the send button. This will automatically populate your autocomplete
file with all of the selected e-mail addresses. Next, go to your Outbox and
delete the e-mail you just created.

Remember to put your mail settings back and plug in your removed cables.

Good luck!
