autochk.exe not found

While my computer starts it sends me information that
autochk.exe is not found-skipping autocheck. It seems to me that one of the
partial but very bad result of that is that Restore procedure does not work.
I use Windows XP Professional in more than two years and everything was OK,
but I did something not good do not know what. Any help will be appreciated.

This can't be related to a recent upgrade to Zone Alarm 5 surely not?

What Richard's trying to say is that ZA 5, if you have that
version, migbht be the problem. Try turning it off or
temporarily removing it and see if that helps. ZA also has
some help for version 5 problems on their web site. They
recommend going back to version 4 at one point if I recall
correctly.

I think both of you are possibly right. I really had some problems just
after I installed ZA5 and I turned it off and went back to ZA4. But I am not
quite sure because I cannot definetely say that I discovered the problem
exactly at that moment. Do you have any suggestion to cope with the problem?
