Autocheck does not run

If i shut down the Pc from the on/off switch autocheck
shud run on restart but it doesn't how can i correct it
in XP pro, the Pc keeps freezing and i have to swith it
off and reboot, i have run a diskcheck but this has not
corrected it,

Can any one help.
 
Hi

No, autocheck may not start if your file system is NTFS
To run check disk in startup, click Start/Run/ and then type CHKDSK /F/R, press the Enter key and then you would be prompted to reboot the machine, do so
In the next startup, check disk should run, be patient, it may take longer time for check disk and repair

BTW, there are many reasons for a freeze OS, can you see any warning messages in the event log
Pls post back with more details, e.g. system config, softwares using, drivers version, etc. so that someone may help you
