http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?cid=9913

Download, Update & Run an Adware program to remove any spyware.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Be sure to visit MS Windows Update site and download the updates this is for
your security and safety.

www.windowsupdate.com

The thing most people do not know is that after they buy a computer with
virus protection installed they have to go in and register and download the
updates and continue to update it or set it to auto update then after a
period of time the subscription will run out usually in 90-180 days at that
time they will have to purchase new protection either online or from a
retail store and at that time they will be able to update for a period of
365 days (1 year).

any help with this problem keep getting auto system
shutdown in 60 seconds windows xp
.
You have the Sasser Worm virus on your computer. Use a
different computer to find instructions for Sasser Worm
Removal. There are also instructions on how to stop the
60 second shutdown on the web, but I don't have the link
in front of me. I can look it up and post it later.

Here is the link to find the steps for removal. It also
gives you information to stop the shutdown long enough to
do the rest of the steps. I used this on a friend's
computer, however the I had to type into "Run" cdm, then
had to type into command line: shutdown.exe -a and that
stopped the shutdown. And I had to do it between the time
the shutdown in ....so many seconds came up and the time
that it actually shut down. You have to be fast or it
will beat you to the shutdown. I tried several times
before I "beat the sasser clock" At any rate. the link is

To abort a system shut down:
Start/Run/type "cmd" [omit quote markers], and click "OK". In the
subsequent Command Prompt window, type "shutdown -a" [omit quote
markers], and press the keyboard "Enter" key. Work quickly to avert that
oncoming shutdown.
If you want to view all possible shutdown switches, stick "shutdown -?"
in a Command Prompt window.
