i keep getting a pop up box that says my autosave is disabled. How do I turn
it on?thanks

There is no 'autosave' in Word - only the automatic saving of recovery
information, which is controlled by a setting in Word's options. However in
order to get that message I would expect that the setting is already
switched on. If the function is disabled, then presumably this implies that
it is unable to write the folder where it stores information. If this is
Word 2003, check Help > About > Disabled Items.
