I have attached a QNAP TS-209 NAS machine to the network, which works fine
too but, when I try to browse the NAS shares using a Dell Optiplex 745, the
Optiplex shuts down and restarts! This doesn't happen with any other machine
on the network.
The first few times there was an error code in the system log, but even
though autorestart is unticked, never any Blue Screen. The error code from
the system log was always error 1003, BCCode 1000007f. However, the last 15
or so restarts have not shown any error and no blue screen.
I have tried all the following with no success:
Run all the Dell hardware diagnostic tests - no faults
run windows chkdsk
changed the memory modules around and tried completely new memory
reset the paging file
disabled wake on LAN in BIOS and on the NIC
tried another NIC in a PCI slot
completely removed Zone Alarm
replaced it with Kaspersky AV and done a full system scan for viruses,
malware, etc.
Can anyone help?
