Greetings!

I'm looking for a freeware auto-responder, or, if a freeware is not
available, then one that can be purchased and has a top-quality reputation.

TIA!

Martin

Look for the latter in alt.shareware. See, this is alt.freeware.

The e-mail client Pegasus will autorespond. I don't use it, but it
has a good rep.

Actually, Pegasus doesn't do that, Mecury does. From the help file:

"If Pegasus Mail's companion Server product, Mercury, is installed on
your system, you can create replies that will be sent out automatically
any time you receive a message. These automatic replies are actually
handled by the Mercury server process and thus will go out even if your
own machine is turned off."

Calypso will autorespond. (It is also a very nice email client, though
I prefer Pegasus.)

Thanks for the quick correction. I tried them both at the same time,
and I must have confused Pegasus with Calypso.
