Using XP Home:

My system will automatically reboot by it's self. I have
the latest patches and virus definitions and I've scanned
for viruses like Blaster with no viruses detected. I've
even looked for the Blaster files manually; again nothing
appears to be there. MS says this may also be a problem
with Windows yet doesn't give any other info.

Reboot usually happens when Online, yet not always.

How can I fix this?

Any help is appreciated!

Eric

Eric, rt click on MyComputer>select Prop>Advanced>Startup and
Recovery-Settings>Uncheck Automatically Restart.
Next time you will probably get a blue screen with error message. Post
error message here.

Had 3 reboots.

Full screen of text showed up for all 3 reboots

“A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to
prevent damage to computer.”

Then asked if I’d seen this screen before and giving
suggestions to:
“Disable memory options of Bios: Shadow and cache.
Disable and or remove new hardware or drivers.”

At bottom of screen:
“Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical dump complete.”

1st reboot:

“Technical Information:

*** Stop 0x00000C5 (0xE24953F0, 0x00000002,
oxoooooooo, 0x80534E56)”

2nd reboot:

“Technical Information:

*** Stop 0x0000008 (0x00000005, 0xBF9B3BB, 0xF198C440,
0x00000000)
***NV4_disp.dll - address BF9B93BB, BF9B7000, Date
Stamp 3d3bdca2”

3rd reboot:

happened in SAFE MODE - same basic screen as 1st reboot
with different addresses.
