auto power off compatibility

ever since I upgraded from win98se I have to manually shut
shut power off. with windows 98se the computer would power
off when "shutdown". how can I correct this condition?

It is likely that your older BIOS/motherboard does not support ACPI. Check
for upgraded BIOS and/or see if you can enable it.
