How do I make PP-2002"play" the video clip automatically
during presentations? The file extn is MPG and each slide
is "timed" so when the presentation gets to the slide
with the video clip we have to rush from the back of the
room to the laptop to click the mouse and sometimes we
miss the timing and the slide jumps to the next. I feel
this is something relatively simple, yet I've tried
several ways of making it play automatically but I can't.
Thanks for any light you can shed into this!
David

When you inserted the video you were asked whether you wanted it to start
automatically. Apparently you replied no. You also probably have an
automatic transition time set for that slide. Delete the video and add it
back in, but this time reply Yes. Then switch to Slide Show mode and test
it.

Hello Sonia / David

I have beening having the same problem but with AVI files and I have been
saying "YES" to play automatically.
I have read on some sites to rename AVI to MPG but this has not worked for
me either...

Any Suggestions????

I have been right through your Sonia and all at my end was perfect...

Please help!
Many thanks in advance.

Sean

I haven't replied before because I've never heard of this problem and
haven't known what to suggest. However, would you double check your custom
animation settings for the video? I don't know which version of PowerPoint
you are using, but if you right click on the video object and select Custom
Animation from the pop-up menu, or select the object and go to Slide Show >
Custom Animation you'll get the interface that you are used to in your
version. In PowerPoint 2002 it will be the Task Pane on the right. You
want to check the order and timing of the video and make sure that it isn't
set to start "on mouse click".
