Auto name completion and .NK2 file

Hello all,
I was helping a friend troubleshoot why her Auto name
completion and name checking (in OL 2002) suddenly quit
working. I verified all the appropriate settings. Then I
checked into the .NK2 issue as suggested by the Microsoft
website. She didn't have one but in my quest to discover
her problem I discovered I don't have a .NK2 file either
but by name completion and checking work just fine. I
have "show hidden files" checked but an automatic and
manual search come up empty. Any ideas?!?! Thanks.

What OS are you using? Did you look for it in the right folder?

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

The folder the file is in is hidden but even if you "show hidden files" you
cannot see the folder unless you are an administrator. I have a user having the
same problem. Her Suggest Names feature was working, she had a lot of names in
the cache then suddenly it quit. I tried deleting her .nk2 file and it
recreated but still did not work. Some have suggested doing a Outlook repair
but from what I've read, that doesn't work. It may be that Outlook has to be
reinstalled to fix the problem. If you hear anything or find a way to fix it
short of reinstalling, please post what you learned. TIA
