Here is a simple freeware program to set auto logon: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/misc.shtml#AutoLogon
It basically simply set the required registry entries via an
easy to use dialog window.
Auto logon does not work (as far as I have seen) with "blank"
passwords, so you need to have an account with a password.
To logon with another account: hold the SHIFT key down during
startup, this will make the auto logon to fail and allow logon
with any other account, e.g. as administrator.
To activate auto logon again: logon manually with the "auto
logon" account.
