Auto Hide sidebar thumbtack/pin always pushed (locked) in IE6, how do I change

On my notebook, I like IE6 to start on Full Screen (F11) with auto hide of
favorites or search. However, the thumbtack is always pushed in. How can I
make IE start with Auto Hide without the thumbtack/pin pushed in (locked)? I
have to click on the thumbtack (unlock) in order to get auto hide of the
sidebar to work every time I go on a web page. The auto hide feature works
correctly on my desktop with IE6

Hi Martin :)

You don't mention which version of Windows you are using, but, you might try
the following and see if it helps:

Go to IE>View>Explorer Bar
Uncheck 'Favorites' if it is checked. That should close the sidebar.

Also, click on the Favorites tab on the lower toolbar, not the one on the
top with the File, View and Tools, but, the lower level one below it. That
should open and close the side bar when you want it.

Hope this helps :)
