Auto fill

99% of the time a Table-Field in a new record will be unchanged from the
previous (same key) record. I would like this Field value to repeat from
record to record till changed by the input operator, but I find the Default
Value property will not accept a Field value.

How might I do this?

pretty common question...


Copy value from previous record (Carry over)
Use the AfterUpdate event of the control to set its Default Value.

An alternative approach is to use the BeforeInsert event of the form to copy
the values from the last record:

Thanks for the URLs. My table's records are in sets that number into the
hundreds. Each record set has its own field that rarely changesbut is unique
to other sets. I will review previous posts.
