auto features

hello. i am having problems with xp. where in my opinion
it is made for non computer users to guide them through
every little step. i do not need this and these auto
messages in the task bar are quite the pain in the rear.
does anyone know how to make this machiene do what i tell
it to instead of trying to guess what i want to do and ask
me all these question. i just want it to run with no auto
anything, like the 98 system. damn you bill gates!!!
