Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone out there could tell me if
there's a way to check for e-mail automatically. What I
mean by this is that I would not have to be "clicking"
send/receive, each time that I need to check for new e-
mail.

Thanks in advance.

Tools > Options > Internet E-mail. Check my local network for
connections(s) for new mail every ____ minutes. You may also want to check
the auto dial button if you're not always online.

How do you set outlook to auto check only when online and not to try and
check for new emails while offline.

Same answer, as before - only don't check the automatically dial if I'm not
online button.

The thing is, when you do go online, you may need to initiate the first
send/receive yourself (then let the automated feature take over) - depending
on the version of Outlook and how things are configured. It seems to always
work for some folks and work only sporadically for others. I've not heard a
clear explanation of why, but it you're going online, chances are you're
interested in getting the messages there right away anyway, so you're
probably going to hit the button whether or not Outlook would do so
automatically at the next scheduled timeframe.
