I have dial up connection.
In OE I have checked 'Ask before switching dial up connection'.
In IE also, I have 'never dial a connection' marked.
Inspite of this my computer starts dialing automatically.

I had posted about this problem of mine previously also.
Malke was kind enough to suggest, to clean up the computer.

At that time I was under the impression that it was Generic Host Process
which was trying to connect and hence, did not take any action..
I have now found out from windows task manager that it is a process
'rasautou.exe' which is trying to dial up.
Searching further, found that it is a Microsoft Remote Access Dialer
Application.
Going to systems properties found that box 'Allow Remote Assistance
Invitations to be sent from this computer' was checked. I don't know what is
default setting, but as far as I know, I had not checked the box for remote
Invitations.
I unchecked this box, but auto dialing is still continuing.
Another thing. I have administrators account and users account.
Surprisingly the process 'rasautou.exe' can be found only in user's account
and not in administrator's account.

I assume you already have antivirus tools but it might be worth downloading
Microsofts Antispyware program (or similar) and running a full scan.
