Auto Detect Proxy

We are using WPAD to get proxy settings from a webserver. On a handful of
our clients, IE 6 is experiencing a 30 second delay when auto detecting the
proxy settings. I'm trying to figure out why this might be happening.

This is what I've done so far:

1. I have no DNS issues. I can ping wpad.<fqdn> and it returns the correct
machine.

2. I can telnet to port 80 of the hosting webserver, type GET /wpad.dat
HTTP/1.1 and the config file is returned within seconds.

3. I have cleared temporary internet files and the like.

I was hoping someone has seen this before and could offer some insights
and/or suggestsions.

Thaniks.
