Hi folks, I've read all the posts on Autocomplete but cannot find anything
in relation to a very slow response time. This feature used to work just
fine for me. For some reason however, recently it has suddenly slowed down
to a complete crawl. It still works, but you have to wait for ever for a
response. All we get is a blank screen [empty ie window] and a VERY long
response time. Prefixing everything with http://www.[address.com] works just
fine and I get a great response time, but I used to be able to enter say
'google.com' and it would leap to it straight away. Now I just sit and wait
for what seems like minutes if I just leave it. Even www.google.com doesn't
work well, it seems to have need the http:// in order to resolve the
address.
Does anyone know if anything has changed recently that would have done this
as I cannot recall making any changes that might cause the delay. I've
emptied the autocomplete details under content, and made sure it is set in
the advanced settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is a very annoying problem.
Many thanks,
TD
