In IE6 with xp pro I have many times arranged my icons
they way I like to see them on my desktop and then
clicked auto arrange to lock them in place. However
whenever I start my pc up later the icons have rearranged
themselves. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Right click any empty spot on the desktop. Click on Arrange Icons. If Auto
Arrange is checked, Un check it so that it won't rearrange them for you.

If that does not work, then go here and get this free utility program. It
is also great for when you have to go to Safe Mode and your icons are all
scattered crazy. You just enter restoredesktop in the Run window, click ok,
and they are all back just the way you want them. I use and it is great!
Someone was kind and passed it on to me when was having the same problem. To
save you desktop format, you just type in savedesktop and click OK, and a
record is made of the desktop arrangement. Then if they get messed up again,
just do the Run | restoredesktop and they're all back in their right spots.

Restore Your Desktop Icons:

Iconoid, free from www.sillysot.com will 'remember' your icon arrangement
for you and restore their position. It also allows customization of icons
