auto-archiving personal sub-folders

Since I upgraded to outlook 2000 from 1998, my auto-archive rules that delete or move old mail in my personal sub-folders no longer work. I am looking for help in fixing this without having to set up again (i have many rules, many sub-folders, etc). Please help!
 
Do you have created those auto-archive rules yourself or is it done by the
general AutoArchive settings in Tools-> Options-> tab Other? In case of the
last one;
-make sure your archive file isn't approaching the 2GB
-make sure you can still open the Archive file in Outlook
-make sure the AutoArchive settings per folder are still correct; rightclick
on the folder-> Properties-> tab AutoArchive

Thanks for getting back to me. To answer your questions, I have a general Auto-Archive (move to archive .pst once a month), as well as auto-archive by sub-folder, typically either delete or archive old mails, depending on folder. My .pst folder is about a meg, and i can still open the archive.
