When I am using auto archive, will the email files that I transfer to the arvhive.pst file (and reside in the archive.pst file) be deleted after a length of time? What I want to do is auto archive them, and have them permanently remain in the archive.pst file. I have heard that Outlook deletes the email files within the archive.pst file after a while. Is this true, or do they permanently reside within the archive.pst file once archived there

Thank you!

They permanently reside in the archive.pst file...unless, of course, you set
AutoArchive settings on the folders in that file too :-) (And the
archive.pst file would have to be actively opened in Outlook for AutoArchive
to be able to work on it, anyway.)

Make sure you check the file size of your archive file every once in a while
to make sure it's not getting too big. If it gets to be 1GB or so, stop
adding new items to it and start a new archive file for future items. (2GB
is the limit for .PST files in Outlook 2002 and earlier and if it hits that
limit, the file becomes unusable.)
