Hi,
I understand how to make Win XP Home automatically start an application at
bootup. However, does anyone know if you can do a similar auto startup of an
app when a device is plugged into a usb port? For example: is it possible
to have Photoshop automatically startup when you plug a camera into a usb
port?
Thanks,
Bill

Hi bill,i
Right click on the camera (removable device ) under my computer then select
the properties ->autoplay tab->ok

Muzafar,
I did that but the application I want to run automatically (startup) isn't
on the list. How do I get it there?
Thanks,
Bill

Double-click the Adobe Photo Downloader icon (a camera with a green arrow)
in the notification area of the Windows task bar.
Note: If the Adobe Photo Downloader has been disabled, the icon may not be
present. Choose Start > All Programs > Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 (or 5.0,
etc.). Open the Organizer, then choose File > Get Photos > From Camera Or
Card Reader.
In the Get Photos From field, select the drive letter of the device or
media you connected.

Muzafar,
I understand. Thanks. My original question, however, was: is it possible
to get any application of choice to start automatically when a device is
plugged into the USB port in a similar fashion as when you set up an
application to start automatically at bootup. I'm guessing that it cannot be
done.
Thanks for your help and patience,
Bil
