hi-
I am not sure what to do in this case and I am not sure
if my question even is the right one
each night I want to "backup" my mdb or mde file into a
separate file than the one it is currently shared/used--
the purpose is to have an "old" copy in case of any
contamination to the existing db during that day of work
but multi - users...Does this make sense to do and if it
is possible -- can anyone advise me on how to do it -
regards and thank you.Mary

Easiest way would be to schedule a batch file through AT to copy your MDB
file (you'd simply use the built-in COPY command). Another, somewhat better
approach would be to schedule a nightly job that renames your existing file,
then compacts the renamed file to the same name as the original file. You
can do this through a batch file as well, or you can look at a 3rd party
product such as Total Access Agent from FMS
