authoritative restore of OU -help

I have to authoritatively restore an OU. Is the following
process correct.

restart the DC in directory restore mode (with the system
boot to the regular windows desktop? or will the backup
have to be preformed differently?)

perform a restore of system state from backup (for example
using the MS Backup util)

run ntdsutil > authoritative restore >
ou=myOU,dc=bio,dc=austin,dc=edu > quit > quit > exit

the system continues the reboot and the specified OU is
restored
