I am running W2000 Adv Svr and FP 2000. I have been for a long time. I've always been able to do whatever I want with FP2000. But now I'm trying to create a new web on y server.

In FP I click New Web and choose http://snoopy/john. Then if I click One Page Web or Personal Web, I get
"Server Error: Authoring is disabled for this server. Contact your server administrator to enable authoring."

I've never come across this error before. I've searched for authoring in FP help, MS Support, and newsgroups and nothing comes up.

Can anyone help me to enable authoring? I don't recall doing anything that would disable it. I looked at my security and permissions and saw nothing in relation to authoring.

Thanks in Advance.

Mike

Create the folder on the server, then make it a FP extended web via the IIS
MMC first.

I know what you are saying thomas, and your advice did work, barely. I still should be able to do what I want to do without the authoring is diabled error. I've done it my way for a long time. There has to be a specific reason for this problem
