Hi All,

Whenever I login to a https secure website and try to download a report from
there (which is in Excel Format), it opens another windows and many a times
I again get the https authentication box asking me for the login id and
password. This is a random issue and I am unable to workaround it. Also I
try to open the report as soon as I logon to the site, so I believe session
timeout cannot be the reason for this.

Could anyone help me on this pls. TIA

Hi Joe :-)

Try the following and see it it helps:

Tools>Internet Explorer>Internet Options>Advanced tab
Click to clear the Show friendly HTTP error messages check box.
Click OK and OK out then close IE

also...

Open IE then on the menu select tools>internet options>connections
tab>lan settings button>make sure nothing in here is checked

or..................

At the top of the page - click help - about internet explorer.
Is your cipher-strength "128-bit" ?

Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
On the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Security section, and then
select the Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 options.
Click OK.

If you have not deleted your temporary internet files since this problem
started you should do that now.

Sometimes a damaged index.dat file can cause this - this procedure will
delete the index.dat file which can't be deleted from windows - when you
reboot windows creates a new clean one.

Check the date and time on your computer ...if it's wrong, cookies will
not be accepted and you will not be able to log in to some sites.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
