Authentication Error

I'm trying to fix a customer's e-mail account that was previously working
with Vista Windows Mail. The error she gets says "The message could not be
sent. The authenticity settings might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail
server.", even when composing a new e-mail. Our mail servers do not require
an SSL connection, SPA, or any kind of authentication. I've made sure the
client program has none of those checked off, both on the Servers Tab, and
the Advanced Tab. I've ripped the account out and put it back in, but still
keep getting the same error. She can however, receive mail just fine, but
gets the error immediately when sending anything. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Where's the rest of the error message?
It should look something like this:

"The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'My Subject',
Account: 'pop.isp.net', Server: 'smtp.isp.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

Are you sure the customer is connected to your network when she gets
that error message? It is common for mobile laptops to get that error when
connected away from the home ISP.

That's all the information about the error message I was given, and it
happens immediately when trying to send an e-mail. I'm not 100% about the
location, I'll have to check on that one. Anything else you could recommend
in the meantime?

Can't do anything more until I see the complete error message.
I was wondering, though, what is the connection between
Seaside Technical Support and EastLink.ca?

We purchase bandwidth from them. I'll try getting the full error message over
the weekend.

We purchase bandwidth from them. I'll work on getting a complete error
message for you over the weekend. (Not sure if my previous post went through)
