Authenticating on FTP from Child Domain?

I have set up FTP on my Windows 2000 server and have internal
users from other domains trying to logon. I am getting the following log
entry when the user attempts to authenticate:

The server was unable to logon the Windows NT account 'mei-uk\michaelc' due
to the following error: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the
requested logon type at this computer. The data is the error code.

I have granted the group EVERYBODY rights to the folder I have set as the
FTP root. The remote domain is a child domain of the parent where the FTP
server resides. How do I grant users from these child domains access to the
FTP server?

The problem very well could be that they do not have the right 'logon
locally' to this server which hosts your FTP.

Take a look at that for starters.
