I need some help and hopefully can find it here. I have a Lenovo 300 N100
Notebook running OmniPass. On my last windows update, an update was
installed to the Authentec Fingerprint device driver and now, the fingerprint
reader does not work. I would like to get things up and running again, but
do not know how. Can anyone come up with a way to get things working again.
Thanks fo the help

Control Panel > System > Device Manager

Look for the device in the lists and, once found, highlight then right click
on the device and select 'Properties'

Now click on the 'driver' tab and select 'Roll Back Driver'

And reset your winupdate settings to only download/install critical updates,
not driver updates, which you should only obtain from manufacturers sites,
in your case Lenovo

Mike - Thanks...that did the trick...didn't know you could roll back a driver
like that. Learn something new every day. Anyway, my fingerprint reader is
back up and running. Thanks again

Thanks for the tip. My settings were correct...I just thought I was
doing the right thing by installing the optional update for my device. Won't
make that mistake again.

I am having a similiar problem I downloaded updates the other day and since
then every time i log on i get a window saying it needs to complete
installation or something like that i gone through every possible choice to
say yes or no but it still always comes up. The finger scanner is playing up
with it as well. I tried to do the rollback that you mentioned but i am
unable to choose the rollback button.

The update appears under update history but not installed updates .... so i
can't uninstall it.

i have a toshiba satellite running vista... please help.
