Not only is it spam - but spam where the poster is getting credit for
sending you there.

Auslogics makes EXCELLENT products

they need to be advertised as much as possible
as REAL alternatives to the useless ones ms has
included.

ausligics defrag runs circles around windows defrag.

While the company mentioned *may* make fantastic products (no clue on that,
and I may not find out thanks to this spamming) - that does not excuse the
fact the posting was obvious spam.

The original posting was/is indiscriminate unsolicited propaganda that did
not even go directly to the web page it eventually directed you to - but
passed you through a third party link (made obvious by the quoted part of
the link I gave) giving the 'spammer' credit for it (in some manner) in the
process.

Even further prove of its "spamness":
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?safe=off&q="Auslogics+-+Speed+Up+Computer+and+Internet"

<sarcasm>I'm sure the people in "rec.gambling.poker", "comp.lang.javascript"
and "mailing.www.php-dev" all appreciate the product advice as
well...</sarcasm>

I have CC'd the the Auslogics press email address the above posting... I
would hope they would not want their name associated with spamming of this
sort.

what I do believe is that it is totally useless
to post a message as spam.

serves no useful purpose.

Actually - in this case - I disagree.

If you were a representative for the company in question - knowing that your
company name was being spread about and you had nothing to do with said
spreading *and* that the method of the name-spreading had a negative
conotation associated with it - wouldn't you like to 'nip it in the bud', so
to speak?

Thus why I emailed the press email address for the company.

I marked the message as spam in the hopes that people would see that the
link did not direct properly (but passed through a third party) to the
company being spammed about. If they had linked directly to the company web
page - to be honest - I probably would have ignored it totally. They did
not.
