I don't know if this is considered a "cross post", but another user
(mshaw1515) and I posted this in the Outlook General Forum starting in
mid-January and haven't had a response. Thought I'd post it here to see if
someone has an answer.

How is this an "installation" question? The general newsgroup was the
correct forum. I daresay, without actually being able to measure, that most
of the people reading this newsgroup also read the general newsgroup and so
would have seen your original post. If you received no answer, it's
possible no one has seen the issue before and can't suggest a solution, so
didn't reply.

So, in other words, you don't know either and rather than offer some guidance
to someone who is obviously not all that familiar with the nuances of this
groups cross posting rules, you opt to get on my case about it. Thanks a
bunch for heaping insult ("how is this and installation question?") on top of
injury (another user and I have a problem that we can't fix and after weeks
no one has responded to our pleas). Seems to me that there are two primary
reasons to post anything in any of these forums: 1. to ask for help, and 2.
to provide help. If you're doing anything else, you're out of line. So
perhaps I was out of line by posting this question in another group, but I
acknowldeged my ignorance of the fine points of cross posting. I'll leave it
to you to decide if your response was appropriate.

My apologies to one and all for taking up your valuable time. If I knew how
to delete this entire thread in this group, I'd do it. If there's a
moderator, please feel free to remove this thread. With my head held low and
and humble shrug, I'll now slink back to where I belong in the Outlook
General Forum and await a response.

If it had been a crosspost, I wouldn't have responded.

It's your choice whether or not to be injured or insulted. Nothing I said
was pejorative.

In the proper newsgroup. You don't enter a hardware store and ask to buy
cake mix.
and 2. to provide help.

And I explain why you might not have gotten a response to your first post.
If you're doing anything else, you're out of line.
Whatever.

So perhaps I was out of line by posting this question in another group,
but I acknowldeged my ignorance of the fine points of cross posting.

So why not educate yourself first?
I'll leave it to you to decide if your response was appropriate.

It was.
My apologies to one and all for taking up your valuable time.

You're the one who decided to have hurt feelings.
If I knew how to delete this entire thread in this group, I'd do it.

Using a real newsreader instead of a web browser would give you that
ability.
If there's a moderator, please feel free to remove this thread.

There isn't.
