Auditing User Access

I now understand how to track the access to files/folders/printers using the
audit feature of Windows XP:

HOW TO: Audit User Access of Files, Folders, and Printers in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310399&Product=winxp

I still need to know if Windows XP automatically tracks any file access
activity (creating, deleting, copying, etc) without specifically setting up
audit policies. That is, I was hoping that Windows XP tracked such
activities, as a default, "right out of the box" ... either through the
event viewer or in another place.

Comments?

Thank you!

No, Windows XP does not have that native capability except
for Internet Explorer history.
