General Problem: No matter how I configure the Audit Policy the system always
resets everthing to No Auditing. I have used Security Templetes, Group
Policies, Local Policy and even attempted a registry hack to no avail.

Any ideas would be causing this problem would be appericated.

Can't visualise how you apply the policies?

I presume you are in a AD domain environment, what you can do is download
and install the GPMC on the DC and using the Group Policy Results tools to
determine which is the winning policy for the auditing settings. You can then
look at the policy to verify on the settings.

HTH.
