HI,

Using Windows 2000 AD, is there any way (please provide details) to audit
Folder access.

Also using Windows 2000 AD is there any way (please provide details) to
audit the use of the Admin account.

If not what a good app.

Thanks

Would this take up a large amount of resources? Or would it produce a
noticeable lag on the server.

If you only audit a few folders/files, probably not. If you try to audit most
everything, definitely so. --- Steve

Thank you, what about auditing the admin/equivalent accounts. How would you
do this and does it have any adverse effects.

From what I know, you can't actually audit everything an account does [I
suppose keyboard logger which brings up ethics/legal issues]. You can enable
auditing of account logon events and logon events on a machine to see when
users logon/log off or on other computers to see when they access resources
on that computer. See list below of what can be audited on Windows 2000,
keeping in mind that none of the auditing , execept possibly auditing
files/folder, is user specific and that auditing things like object access
and process tracking will generate huge amounts of events in the security
log.
