Hi

is that although i get good (excellent in fact) sound in vista when i boot up
xp after that , there is no sound in that. I have tried reinstalling all
drivers and software for my card but it just doesnt work. I have onboard

Any help would be appreciated

Check to see if anything is muted as Colin says, and check all the levers
and settings on both your XP CP Sound Applet and the Applet that will be in
the CP for Realtek. Unplug the connections to speakers and replug them in.

I have the same problem -- even with RC1

Tried everything you suggested --

i have the the same problem, i have the last version of Vista
i tried all that was mentioned here but i can`t get any sound from windows XP

i also have to mention that once i started to disable some services in
"msconfig", and i got the XP with sound, but then i move this services again
and all XP got muted again

the services i move were related to windows media center

maybe there is some solution around windows media center

i would apreciate any solution

NMI=Need more info.

1) What build of Vista is the last version of Vista because that can mean
several different things depending on the person. The last version that has
circulated beyond the campus is 5840.

2) What sound card please?

3) Make sure you go after the usual suspects. Ck. control panel applet for
sound and make sure that you hit all the buttons and no ckmarks have been
placed behind the scenes by software in your equation in mute

4) Ck the Sound Card applet on the CP and make sure that no levers are in a
position that can compromise your sound.

5) Both 3 and 4 happen not infrequently.

6) Replug in all your speaker connections.

7) Clean inside your box and make sure the sound card is dust free as well.

sorry, i didn`t mention details
i have to add that i have Vista and XP in my PC,in Windows Vista i have
sound but in XP not

1) I have Vista Release Candidate 1 Build 5600

2) I have a Realtek High Definition Audio on my INTEL D101Ggc

3) I check (on XP) all settings in control panel an everything seems to be
normal, no muted checks.

4) I have checked The Realtek Panel also, and everything seems to be normal,
it has a demo where yo can test audio, it seems to work but i can`t hear no
sound

5) in the Sound Settings of windows and in the Realtek Panel everything
seems to work normally but no sound on Windows XP

6) I tried to replug speaker connection several times but the result is the
same, it works normally in vista no XP sound

7) I didn`t clean the card because it works right in Windows Vista but no
sound in XP

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
