Audio Speed

For some reason all of the clips once moved into the
timeline accelerate their audio speed. Vidoe speed stays
the same, but AUDIO goes several times faster. I cant seem
to be able to fix this problem.

Anyone knows what I can do?
 
I get this when I try and place AVI files in to the story
board. I can't offer an anser but how I get round my
problem is to convert the AVI files in to window Media
files - The screeching stops then....You can download a
free STOIC video convertor here that works pretty well
