Audio speed too fast in storyboard, ok everywhere else

Please help,

I have a digital camera that takes videos and I added them to my computer
via USB cable. The file format is avi. I then imported the file to windows
movie maker and each file plays perfectly in the collection. Once the file
is added to the storyboard though it plays vidoe just fine but THE AUDIO IS
VERY FAST. I have no other problems and can't find an answer anywhere. When
I click on the file and then properties in collections it is a video with
audio. Audio bit rate is 44kbps, 1 channel, 11khz sample rate, & 4 is the
sample size.

Is it the AVI format? Do I need to convert? How can I correct the audio
playback speed. Please advise.

Wrong connection.
USB is used to transfer images from the memory card.
For transfer of DV footage from cam to PC, use the firewire connection.
 
I only have a USB connection I believe......here is a link to my camera....
http://www.casio.com/products/Cameras/Exilim_Zoom/EX-Z57 I can't find
any accessory to buy the firewire and it does not list that anywhere on the
product, just says usb. THere must be some other way......everything is
great but the audio speed is too fast. Expert please!

Sounds like a codec problem

In Moviemaker

<tools><options>[compatibility tab]


A quick test is to turn all the check boxes off and see if the problem
is solved. Frequently the codecs are added for purposes that you will
never use. (just remember in case of future problems).

I have regularly needed to turn off an AC3 codec cause it causes sound
problems

If this solves the problem.....you can sigh and ignore or, If you wish
to isolate specific codec that is giving problems then you can gradually
turn filters back on until the problem recurs or use Gspot or some other
tool to identify what codecs are potentially used to do the rendering.


If it doesnt solve the problem you will need to use Gspot to identify
the codec and take more drastic action.

It is a basic digital camera, I mistook it for a DV cam,
The "video" that it captures will be in a propriatary compressed
AVI format.
The camera will probably have come with specific software
which you should use to convert the produced file to a more
ameniable format that your editing software is compatible with.
You should first visit the manufacturers site for your cam and
download any updates/patches for your cam and software.
