Audio Speed (Time Sensitive)

I imported a movie and watched it with the audio fine. I then muted the audio
and set the slider all the way to the narrated audio. I then had my boss
record his narration. I saved the audio, but when it is played with the
movie, it goes at double speed and ends halfway through the movie. When I
listen to the WAV it created, the audio is fine and at normal speed. When in
the timeline, I listen to the audio on its own and it is fine, but when it
plays with the movie, it is double time high pitch like in the export. Help
anyone?

Hello,

Do you know what the sample rate/bit rate is for the audio already attached to
the video. For example...if video was recorded using 12bit audio and you then
mix a Movie Maker acquired audio stream (which will be at 16bit wide and
sampled at 44,100Hz) you will (in movie maker at least) a Battle Royal taking
place.

Its not a big deal if this is your problem. You can re-sample the audio
attached to the video and merge it back....if you do not have appropriate
software you can go to my web site and click on GREAT LINKS > AUDIO and get a
free copy of AUDACITY....it is possibly the most advanced free audio software
available. It certainly has more abilities than you will need for this job.

The procedure
==========
1) Play the video whilst doing a capture with Audacity
2) Edit the audio as desired
3) Mute the audio on the timeline of Movie Maker and bring in the edited audio
to the narration line....synchronize by zooming all the way in on the timeline
and position audio as needed
Click FILE > SAVE MOVIE FILES in Movie Maker and create a DV-AVI file
4) Import newly created video and import your boss's narration as before.

You can merge in the Narration from your boss in step 2 above. Doing it this
way you can progressively alter the audio volume from each source which is a
lot more professional than you can do in Movie Maker where you have to cut it
up into small discrete sections and gradually alter the volume of each
section...if done badly you get steps up or down in the volume
