I want to save my video to the computer at the DV rate.
When I do there are noticable clips in my audio.
How can I avoid this ?

Also. I'm going to make a DVD as the final. What is the
best rate to save for that purpose ?

You need to make sure as little as possible is running in the background
when capturing your data.... temporarily (and ONLY temporarily) disable
antivirus software running in real time, stop Seti at Home, Outlook, Outlook
Express etc etc... stop surfing.... MOVE AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER... go make a
cup of coffee, do the laundry, vacuuming, wash the car, whatever takes your
fancy etc while it's capturing..... yes I know it's frustrating but
capturing/saving/exporting takes a LOT of CPU resources and dropped frames
indicate the poor CPU is being over-worked!

For the best resolution, save the finalized project in DV-AVI format... but
remember it takes up a LOT of hard drive space, approximately 12gb for every
hour of footage.

Hi there,

There is a FAQ on my web site, it comes under Movie Maker and Speed. I
suggest you check that out. In addition, you might want to check out the
mostly complete tutorial on how to check that your hard drives are actually
functioning as they should....when you reach the point that discusses PIO
and DMA, if you find you are using PIO you need to set it to DMA and then
reboot...all will be clearer when you read the tutorial...just remember that
its not yet complete.
