Audio recorder that can run "always on" on background?

Hi.

Is there any audio recorder that can run in background, always recording
the input via microphone?

I want it to run minimized in system tray and not stop (like Windows'
standard sound recorder which stops recording every 60 seconds).

MIght want to look at some of the apps written for scanner listeners.
The scanners run for hours and the apps usually have neat features
like VOX.
