Could anyone tell me...can you have the audio fit to the slideshow
automatically? I want the whole song to play, but I want the timing of each
picture to adjust automatically.

Also, I have video footage that I want the music to play over, and some
footage that I want the actual video sounds to play. I know how to turn the
music up and down with the slider manually, but how do I make it so that it
does it automatically, and will it do that when I transfer the movie to a
dvd? In other words...I want the music to fade out in some scenes and fade
back in on others...and have the actual sounds of the video playing.

Not with Movie Maker unfortunately.

Yes
In timeline view click the spot where you want to fade out so the blue
progress line shows in that spot or play in preview and pause at that spot.
Then click the split button. Right click the left portion of the audio and
click fade out. Now navigate to where you want to fade back in and split the
clip again. Right click the middle portion and click Mute. Right click the
right portion and click fade in.

Once you play around you will see exactly what I am talking about and you'll
have the result you want in no time.

Hi Wojo...
Thanks for the quick response....I'm almost there....the problem that I am
having is that I can't get the "video" audio to come through unless I click
"timeline" then "audio levels" then slide the bar from "audio music" to
"audio from video". It doesn't go from one to the other without sliding it
manually. I followed your instructions below, which were very helpful...now
I have this one little glitch...any suggestions?

Also, does photostory 3 run on Vista?

Ah I think I may see what you missed.
On the timeline where the section is labeled "Video" is it expanded? Is
there an "X" or a "-" next to it?
If it is an "X" then click it to expand that section. From there you can
right click and adjust volume or mute the audio as needed.

Yes Photo Story 3 works on Vista as far as I know.

You can try the DVD Slideshow Builder which is very powerful and very
popular now, many friends and I like it very much. It's very easy to
create a customized DVD slide show with photos and videos, and I can
add music, transitions, and motion effects and make beautiful DVD
menus. To be important, it has great video editing function that can
meet your needs. Also, we can create .mp4, .wmv, .avi, .3gp slideshows
for our iPod, Zune and 3GP Cell Phones, Youtube .etc.

You can download it free here
http://www.photo-to-dvd.com/dvd-slideshow-builder.php?sid=8
And a specific tutorial is here

Hope this helps!
