I have Powerpoint 2000 on my desktop (XP Home) and have no difficulties.
However, I recently installed it to my laptop (HP Pavilion, WinME) and have
some problems. When I insert an audio file into a slide, a graphic appears
over top of the existing picture that I have on the slide. It looks like an
extreme enlargement of the existing picture. There is no speaker icon like
the one that appears when I insert audio on my desktop PC. Then when I play
the show, the audio plays, but the screen becomes white and no slides are
shown. The slides display and transition fine if I do not have any audio
inserted. Please help.

Mark,

Sounds like you need to update your "graphics card drivers" for your hp laptop.

1st place to call is the hp - support website
2nd place to search is the manufacturer of your graphics card (s3, ati, nvidia, etc)

Thanks. The graphics card is a Trident Cyberblade i7 AGP (8420-64). Any
suggestins where I can find an update? Trident.com doesn't offer one. HP
does not offer a specific update.
