audio problems

i suppose this doesn't go under the general column but
here goes....i've lost all audio to my computer

my music no longer plays, the windows bootup sound does
not sound anymore, i've checked my audio settings to make
sure the volume is up.

the last several things i did to my computer, updated some
drivers, none of which were audio related but they are
modem driver, ethernet driver, windows media player 9
updates(something about a playlist hack upgrade)

now, the last operation i performed before losing audio
was i changed my Display Properties Settings to 32 bit
Color Quality....i changed it, the change took effect,
everything was fine then the comp froze for a sec, lost
audio and i pushed F5 to refresh the screen, everything
went back to normal except i lost audio....

i updated some audio drivers to see if audio would come
back as well as updating directx to 9.0c

any ideas as to why this might've happened or what went
wrong is greatly appreciated...also solutions to the
problem are helpful :D

...D.

Cannot tell you what happened. But why don't you just go to system restore
and restore back to a point previous to your problem starting.. better go
back a few days before that just to be cool..
