Greetings
When I create a movie using Windows Movie Make, using movie files created in my digital camera .AVI the audio is broken and unreadable. Any ideas
Thanks, Bob N7ISU

There was an article on the MS web site saying this may
be due to having the old version (4.0) of Intervideo
WinDVD installed. The fix is to go to Intervideo and buy
the newer version. I'd be interested in hearing about
other solutions.

Hi there,

You could always download a program called "Rename Codecs" from my web
site. When run the program gives two basic options. Those on the left will
search for codec's that may cause you a problem and gives you the
opportunity to rename them....the program takes care of what it calls them.
Then you run MovieMaker....afterwards you run my program again and using
the options on the right you recover the renamed codec's and let the
program restore their original names. Only codec's that have previously
been identified by users in this newsgroup are searched for...therefore if
it does not initially list any codec's for you, then you do not have them
on your system. On my system it takes around 3.5seconds to locate all of
these codec's...no matter where they are stored. The program does not rely
on any registry settings as these can often be wrong.

Best Wishes.....John Kelly
