Audio Plays Double Speed on StoryBoard

I have MPG movie files with sound that I recorded using a SONY DSC-V1
digital camera. I import them into MM2 and they play fine from the
"Collection" but once I add them to the "StoryBoard" and I play them, the
video plays fine but the sound is like twice as fast as the video and then
there is silence while the video finishes up. I suppose there is some
weirdness in the way MM2 is looking at the different sample rates between
the video and audio? Anyone fix this one yet?

Thanks,
Huey

Huey--

Your problem sounds like the problem I was having. I found an earlier post (from a few weeks ago) that described a similar problem and gave a solution, which worked for me. That person had a Dell Laptop wiht InterVideo WinDVD 4 loaded on it, as do I. That person suggested uninstalling WinDVD 4. I did it, and the problem with the storyboard is now gone! Apparently something in WinDVD 4 is in conflict with MM2, although I don't know what it is.

However, this solution does have a drawback: having uninstalled WinDVD 4, I no longer have a DVD decoder on my laptop, so I can't use any DVDs (unless I re-install WinDVD 4). The post I referred to did say that InterVideo WinDVD 5 does not have this same problem with MM2.

What I want to know if there is a way to uninstall WinDVD 4--whatever portion is in conflict with MM2--without uninstalling the DVD decoder. I'd prefer not to have to purchase WinDVD 5 (or another DVD decoder) but use Windows Media Player with the DVD decoder I already have. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Huey, I hope this solution works for you.

joao - Bless you friend, this worked!

Now, I don't know of a free Premium DVD player but many DVDs come with a
free cheap viewer that you can use. For instance the "Pirates of the
Caribbean" DVD I have comes with a free DVD player called interActual
(amazingly their website offers WinDVD v.5 for $39)

Thanks again for your help...
Huey
