Check your Audio Drivers. I saw this problem (we called
it the "chipmunk talking" problem) with some Dell PC a
couple years ago. We had to upgrade the audio drivers as
I recall.....Rob

Francois,
It's uncanny. We seem to be having almost identical
problems. Did you install anything recently or rather,
just prior to the sound change? I thought that my problem
(posted just before yours today) was caused by a change in
CD's and/or software, but your post is giving me pause.

I have a Compaq Pro 1GHz pc with Windows 2000 and an AC'97
built-in sound system. Some time ago the audio started
playing too fast and reinstalling the operating system
does not fix it. I have removed and reinstalled the audio
codecs, installed Media Player 9 and DirecX 8, but still
the problem exists. PLease advice what can be done to fix
this problem.
