audio out of sync with video

I have just installed an Ati all in wonder 9600 on a amd 2500 system and the
audio is about half a second out of the video. I know that microsoft has a
fix but I cannot find how to get it. Any suggestions...

Audio behind video for what type of files/media in what player using what
codecs?
