Audio out of sync with picture

I am using MM2 and when I preview my video in the collection window the
picture and sound are fine but when I put it on the timeline, the audio plays
slow. When I play the original AVI file in Media PLayer the sound is fine
but the picture is a bit choppy. How can I get the audio to match the
picture in MM2?

If it doesn't play properly in wmp and isn't right in MM, then I suggest the
file is most likely corrupt.
It may be the avi file, as there are over 800 of them, isn't compatible with
MM and you don't have the right codec to play it in wmp.

This is exactly my problem - except my audio and video are both fine in WMP.
After a week of making several movies- no problems capturing, editing,
playing back, or making into DVDs - now I can't play my clips in the timeline
without the audio being very slow. As you say, Karen, it plays fine in the
collection window.

I've deleted all my files and started fresh and it keeps happening.

Can anyone help?

Its not the same problem then if yours plays fine in WMP.

What file type is it?
I suspect something that isn't compatible with MM, check this link and
convert files to compatible ones.
